Some parts for my next banjo project.
Not necessarily for the same banjo. The neck is maple and mahogany, and will probably be for a fretted banjo. The fingerboard is mahogany with white oak strips for a fretless.

Crude scrap-wood banjo.
The neck and body are white pine (stained); the fingerboard is an old oak floorboard with dowels cut in half for frets; the top and back are lauan plywood; the tuning pegs are old violin pegs; and the bridge is oak. The strings are classical guitar strings (I had to piece together from a few sets to get the right gauges). On most banjos with wood tops, the top is solid and the back is open; but I cut the hole in the top like a guitar as an experiment. It doesn't sound half bad. The only problem with it is the fret spacing is a little off, which makes it more of a wall ornament than an instrument.
